Me? waterskiing??

Yup! It's me.

The journalling reads....
I've been absolutely terrified every moment of my life, and I've never let it keep me from doing a single thing I've wanted to. (this is a quote but aptly describes me)
AKA - pride!
A year later I was waterskiing and broke a rib.
Haven't been back since - not fear - just
didn't want to!
Have you ever broken a rib?
Don't laugh!
It isn't funny. LOL Actually it is not that big a deal, but it sure hurts when you laugh!

I have scrapbooked those pics - they were the second page I ever did in my life - which means I discovered this addiction scrapbooking in the summer of 2002 - maybe.... while I was recovering from a broken rib. :)
Anyway, it is pretty sad page! Remember when we used to cut the people out of the pictures? I might not show you. Okay if I get an overwhelming response I MAY post the page....

Don't overload my comment box now!

Julie,
What's wrong with cutting the people out of the picture. I have found it a very effective way of doing some absolutely amazing pages. Look forward to your response.
Also, I don't see anything wrong with the page you just posted - it's the memories that count.

Hey Julie. Good for you! I love waterskiing, broken ribs, toes fingers and all. I haven't gone since I left home bu tI sure miss it and would love to do it again.
Please post your other page. Sometimes it is good to giggle at our first attempts but it is aslo nice to see how far we've come in our hobby.

Hi Anonymous - is that you Cheryl?
Hey cutting people out is okay sometimes - but it is a mark of scrapbooking 6 years ago when we did it all the time - you know along with photos cropped to a nice oval shape and matted six times. LOL
Actually I love this page - it is the OTHER waterskiing page that leaves much to be desired.

Okay Sheryl and Angie - I will dig the page out...now where did I put it???

Cutting the people out with FANCY scissors is the mark of scrapping 6 years ago girlfriend...

I'm glad I'm not the only one! :o) I LOVE the quote on the skiing page. Excellent!!!

Nope, that wasn't me. I do like your scrapbooking though, so can't imagine that it looks that bad. We are often our own worst critics! Besides, I hate water and no matter how much I would like to waterski, I have kept my skiing on the mountains only! Cheryl L

Thank you Cheryl! I have given up downhill skiing too. I decided that after fifty I just didn't want to fall anymore and so it lost all it's fun. I have found in my old age wisdom that blogging and scrapbooking are far safer. LOL They cause weight gain too - I wonder why?

Hey Kate - those fancy scissors made a bit of a comeback for a while there - scalloped edges are in! And so have punches - we are selling a ton of them! Who'd a thunk, but then we woman are not only wonderfully creative, we are frugal too!

Hey Julie,

You have to post the page...after all I had to post one of my first ones on a dare! I do want to see it, though. It really is encouraging to see how far we have grown in our addic...I mean creative art!

I'll be watching.
