Had fun with my macro lens a few weeks back. This little honey bee likes to hang out at my back door because there is a plethora of nectar for him there and man is he busy getting it all before somebeedy else comes along and discovers his treasure. He is definitely one busy bee. He was rarely still for 1/100th of a shutter speed second.

wow those are some awesome pics...i should get you to teach me your tricks one day
Those are really great shots...nice.
Great shots Julie. I love watching bees - this reminded me of my growing-up days on the farm.
Great pics,Julie. I am in the process of shopping for a new, better camera. Digital SLR I hope. If I can afford it, so maybe I"ll have to bug you about pointers after I get it. And I did catch the comment about fiancee, but thought that I had missed something somewhere along the line. I was going to check back a few days but got sidetracked. Oh well, congratulations to your family. Good luck with plans, you should be okay for planning next year but things do book up quickly. Been there, done that, twice.
Hey Cheryl, I would love to pass on what I know. I have several links to very good beginner tutorials on how to set your F-stop and shutter speed. No use buying a digital SLR if you are just going to shoot in auto. Also feel free to ask me all my settings with any photo I post. Learning to use your settings is fun and allows you to get the most of your DSLR
And you can give me wedding planning advice....like can we do this for under $6000.00?????
Cheryl - see the guys at Don's photo - and pick their brains - they are great and there is never any pressure!
