Rain, rain, rain

In rushing, rising riv'lets,
'Til the river crept out of it's bed
And crept right into Piglet's!
Poor Piglet, he was frightened,
With quite a rightful fright.
And so, in desperation
A message he did write.
He placed it in a bottle
And it floated out of sight.
And the rain rain rain came down down down
So Piglet started bailing.
He was unaware, atop his chair,
While bailing he was sailing!
And the rain rain rain came down down down
And the flood rose up up upper.
Pooh, too, was caught and so he thought,
"I must rescue my supper!"
Ten honey pots he rescued,
Enough to see him through,
But as he sopped up his supper,
The river sopped up Pooh!
And the water twirled and tossed him
In a honey pot canoe!
The rain rain rain came down down down...

It has been a rainy summer. Not constant, just heavy, unexpected downpours, and a lot of them. Heavy enough to cause the water to creep out of the flower beds and down the driveway.

The day starts out quite like a summer day. And then the skies darken. It becomes very still and we wait. Then is comes. The skies just open up and it pours down.

The gardens overflow.

There has been a great deal of thunder and lightening too.

Some are asking when the heat of summer will finally come and stay....but it will be August tomorrow and then September. That means fall and then, dare I say it? winter....

I asked the Lord for the cleansing rains this spring. I guess He is still cleaning. And there is a lot of cleaning that needs to be done. Thank you Lord for the rain. The sweet smelling, cleansing rain. and the rain, rain, rain came down, down, down

Julie,
I too love the rain. I'm so thankful for the cleansing effect it has on our surroundings..even on my attitude. Have a great rest of the summer. :) BTW if you want to extend that summer we'll be having ours through Oct!

cool pictures, Julie. I love how you caught the rain sort of sheeting down. I do like the rain but the tornadoes kinda scare me alittle!! Cheryl

Never a dull moment on the prairies. Blizzards, hail storms, tornadoes and wind that will take your socks off. I guess it makes us hardy.
