Hawaii layout.....Google memory

Google Blogger told me the other day that I was using 86% of my allowable capacity for upload. I have been saving my scanned layouts in lesser quality to reduce Mb. So this news that I was almost at capacity meant the possible move to Typepad. But Typepad means money!!!!! I checked out several levels of typepad and the the monthly layout of cash was going to be significant if I wanted a good solid amount of memory on my Blog. Blogger right now gives me 1000 Mb or a GB - and it is almost full. Typepad Basic at $50 USD only gives you 500 Mb - how long will that last me?? Not long. For a decent 1 GB it is $150 USD/year. But that still isn't enough. I have used almost a GB with Blogger in the past year. Now the $150 does give you some other features, but really not that much more different then Blogger. So I decided to see if Blogger will sell me more memory.

Well it seems that every picture that is uploaded to Blogger is stored on Picasa. If you upload a picture and then delete it from your blog - it is still on Picasa (and using up memory). So the first thing I did is start deleting all the photos that I was no longer using on my blog. I accidentally deleted my header too - oops! Do be careful when you do this. I had quite the time finding it again on my computer - actually I didn't find it but found a version of it that I had to edit and re upload. So I am wondering if deleting from Picasa also deleted from your computer - this would be crazy but I need to test it out before I do anymore deletions. So getting rid of stuff I never used freed up several MB of memory on Google.

At the bottom of your Picasa page you have an option to increase your storage. Get this - 50 GB for $20 USD/year. So WHY switch to typepad???? If I am missing something here typepad users?? Please let me know. It seems to me that Google Blogger is WAY less expensive and gives me WAY more memory storage.

And on to more pleasant subjects. Worked two days at JSI this week and besides buying a bunch of stuff, got another Hawaii page done. :) And used the new pebbles that came in too, and the new flowers and some of those brass letters on the sale table. Oh and those very classy travel stickers. Got to love this job!! Okay I did work while I was there and helped a lot of customers. :)

Have a great day!

12 min page

Seriously this took me 12 min. A new Deja Views exclusive line called Little Yellow Bicycle arrived at the store on Thursday - boy stuff - yeah, I agree, enough of all those pretty pinks!!! This stuff is for the guys! It is fun and tough! So here are a couple of my boys curling last winter. One piece of paper, a package of very cool stickers, my adhesive and sanding block and there you have it! yup! 12 minutes and I like it!! I'm going back for more.

The Netherlands

Just finished another quick layout for our 2000 album. I know, I said I was finished with 2000, but then came across these pictures of David's business trip to Delft and Amsterdam in The Netherlands. David did all the journalling about the places he visited, his favorite restaurant and his favorite dish, eel. Click on the pages to enlarge them and you can read what he wrote. I was so glad to get him involved in the scrapbooking process and I think he actually enjoyed it. I will not likely get him to use an embellishment or glue stick, but he did do the journalling and sometimes that is the more difficult part. :)\
Blessings!

Bzoo layout with the new Thickers

This layout Bzoo is from the "take-out" line. Lots of photos to use of Allison and my trip to Victoria to visit G&G in Feb 2001.

I found Allison's home school journal and scanned a few entries that captures this event - this is unique journalling. :) I am so happy that I made the kids keep journals. I know it was a chore back when, but they are getting to the age when they will discover them and be so glad they kept them. It sure helps me remember events from years ago - and the dates and names of people. Note to young Mom's - as soon as they can write - have them keep a journal - great way to have them remember special and even day to day things and it really developed their writing and communication skills. It helps them to be able to communicate feelings and thoughts.

Valentines Layout

I showed Ralna these two dark, cluttered pictures with every colour under the sun in them and said "What do I do with these?!" It took her about 6 sec to walk over to the shelf and pull this new Dream Street Paper "Birdie Bit" paper off the shelf. All the colours were there! Fun paper. Then the new American Craft felt "details" embellishments were just unpacked from the box - perfect...and the new thickers white "Jewelry Box" font...oh this page was coming together before my eyes. Picked up the Heidi Swapp chip board letters in these new fun colours and I was ready to put it together. I have now completed four pages from the 2001 stash of photos - I will post the other two this evening.

Journalling reads... Allison and I arrived home from Victoria to a surprise on Feb 14th, 2001. Dad had made supper, decorated the kitchen and had Valentines gifts for his two sweet girls. Chocolates, flowers, balloons - What a guy!
Not great photos but precious memories will now go in the family album. And THAT is why we scrapbook!
Okay - running out the door to work - see you at JSI this afternoon - remember Shaw will be there to find out all about scrapbooking!
Blessings!

ANOTHER layout! New stuff. Great Day!

Do you believe it??? Another layout - another 20 minute layout. New lines from bzoo came in today. Great, fun and FAST layouts - so guess what, I am now into doing my 2001 pictures and this is going to be fast. Take those not so great, grainy pictures - that are part of your childs memories - and put them on this paper and they come alive. Talk about easy - some buttons and some old MM rub-on letters and I am done...and I really like it! I am going back to buy some more of this paper!!

Now wasn't that easy? Scroll down to my previous posts below to see four other pages I just finished this weekend. I AM on a roll!! And check out the FABULOUS new thickers that came in this afternoon - the fonts are so fun! I bought the Jewelry Box in black today. I might have to go back and get a few more colours!

I hope to use them on a page tonight and post it tonight. Colours, fonts...the front desk was piled high with them when I left the store and Ralna was trying to find a place for them...they won't last long. Phone Laura tonight and have her put some aside for you! And new from American Crafts - really fun felt "details". I hope to use them tonight also...stayed tuned!

BTW - Stop by JUST Scrap It! tomorrow afternoon...around 2 pm. That is Tuesday March 4th. Shaw TV will be there...they want to find out what this buzz about scrapbooking is all about. Come and show them what a fabulous art we have! See you there!

And that is all. Phew - what a busy and exciting day!! I even got to the gym today for a work out and washed the car....this is called a day off work!! Love it! I am at JSI tomorrow - isn't life just grand??

Blessings!

Another winter layout

Another winter layout. What can I say....I live in Saskatchewan and it is COLD here. Winter plays a significant role in our lives.

I used the Best Creations paper - they have some beautiful winter, Christmas and heritage papers with glitter on them.

Remember the blizzard of Jan 10/2007? This was a really easy page and I had fun using grunge board to cut out my letters on the di cut machine - ink them and spray them with silver shimmers - cool stuff. A little bling for that winter cold sparkle, some snow flakes and done. About 20 minutes. I think I am so inspired to be using current pictures that I am really on a roll but one of these days I will have to tackle all the 2001 pictures neatly organized on my desk waiting for me. :)

Blessings!

Scrapbook Party more pages!

Last night the "design team" aka the girls at Just Scrap It! got together to scrap, munch and laugh! I wish I didn't fall asleep at 10 pm every night because I could have got a lot more pages done. I did hang in there until 10:30 though! Yeah! Three pages done. I love this picture Melina took of David and me. Have I told you lately? I love you! Every day! Every day!

And another picture of David and me in Mexico - I love this new line of vacation paper just in at Just Scrap It! VERY tropical!! If you are looking for vacation paper, Just Scrap It has it!!

Doesn't this paper just scream sun, warmth, relaxation and fun - oh yeah!

Have to go back soon! Oh such fun together !!

My space...used the new line of Dream Street Papers just in - oh I love it all!! This paper is beautiful!! I have grabbed one of each - it is flying off the shelves. You have to come in and see this line - just gorgeous - I don't know, I may like this line better than Basic Grey!! Just really cool distressed paper with real variety and yet it all works together and it is nice heavy weight - yeah - a new favorite. Journalling reads...

This is my space. It is one of my favourite places to be. It is my haven, my get away, my therapy, my little space where I put the commitments of my life aside and create something. Here is where I play in Photoshop. This is my spot to scrapbook and put on paper my memories and thoughts. It is from this chair I do all my blogging and on line Bible lessons or just reading. I pray in here. This is where I store all my photographs and sit and organize them for hours. It is here that I reminisce and remember and marvel in His goodness to me. This is where my bag of inspiration from Just Scrap It! lands when I come in the door. It is in this chair that I go through my Google reader and find out what all my friends in far away and not so far away places are busy creating in their scrapbook havens. It is from here that I get to connect with their lives. It is where I stay warm –it is right over the furnace room and it is small. This is where ALL my scrapbook supplies and photograph equipment are. In this space I create, I blog, I pray, I organize, I dream, I read my Bible, I plan. It is such a big part of me and yet I really don’t get to spend a whole bunch of time in here. But it is enough to revive me. I transformed this room from a messy disorganized, cluttered smelly corner into “my space” for my 50th birthday. I am almost 51…and this space of mine has been a favourite place for almost a year. I think it will just keep being that for a while.

Thanks for letting me share...love to hear your thoughts.

Have a great day!

My Family

Finished this yesterday - It had been sitting on my desk for over a week and every day I would play with it for 10 min and then leave it - finally just glued it down, added some flowers and buttons and rub ons..oh and some of the fabulous new ribbon at JSI - just fabulous!!
The scanner cut it off on the bottom...I saw an Epson 12X12 scanner in a magazine the other day...hmmm. Although I have to say the photo merge in Photoshop works like a charm...if only my old scanner wouldn't cut off the top or bottom!
I used Basic Grey paper! I am so looking forward to the five new lines of Basic Grey due into the store...maybe the end of next week???
Have a great weekend.
