Road Trip

My sweethert wisked me off to Edmonton for the weekend.
To do NOTHING!!
And it was wonderful.
Didn't take my DSLR out until this morning.
Imagine that!
These first two photos were take at 120 kph....

We had breakfast in this restaurant this morning. It was good food but WAY over priced! David wouldn't let me look at the bill.

He just told me I was worth it.

......such a charmer this guy of mine!

More Family Love.

Ohhh new babies are so wonderful...even when they cry. I had another photo opportunity this weekend.
This little one just wanted to be held and cuddled and can you blame her? While her big sister was quite happy to be in front of the camera, this newborn just wanted Mommy and Daddy.
My one rare shot where she allowed the camera to capture her.

I love this photo. The three year old is full of spunk and I think Dad is wondering what life is going to be like with two energetic little girls.

Family Love.

I had the opportunity to meet a special family this weekend and capture some moments with them. I say special because they just exuded love for one another. They were so happy and that just made it so easy to put their love into a moment in time.

Sherpa wanted a photo of these great "Rider" green shoes.

100mm 2.8 macro USM

New lens.
Macro - for taking photos of tiny things... like baby fingernails and eyelashes and thumbs and lips and all those wonderfully delicious parts that come with a new baby.

It will also work well for spiders, bees, pollen...that kind of stuff.
The beauty of the 100 mm is that at a distance it works fairly well for portraiture.

So Thursday evening during Bible study I was a tad distracted.
No flash. 1000 ISO - love this Canon 5D Mk II

And our thanks to Cindy's Mom who made this fantastic home made wild bluberry pie!!
Greg had two pieces.... but we aren't telling!

Two photo shoots this weekend - babies and families.... and a new macro. :)

Happy Birthday Harold!!

My oldest
Turned 29
TODAY!!

Which makes me realize that there is a reason I have some saggy skin.....

It seems like just a few years ago I gave birth to him.

We marveled at this wonderful, beautiful new human being we had brought into the world and wondered if we could really be parents.

...sometimes I still wonder

And in a few years we were parents of three more and a few years after that we became grandparents.

Funny how that happens.....

Happy Birthday Harold!

Even more digital

LOL I discovered this post I had prepared back in August, but not actually posted. What,  with a road trip, full time work, baby showers and weekends filed with photo shoots - oh and a new grand baby... well it somehow got lost in the archives. I have now printed these pages and they are ready for an album...some day. And I THINK I finished the year 2003 - but I am not sure and too afraid to look and see what photos are not yet scrapped.
I am NOW out of the scrapbooking groove BTW (see below)

...its a dangerous thing this scrapbooking......

I am going with the momentum here. When you are in the scrapbooking groove, just go with it and do as many pages as you can because when you fall out of that groove it could be another 6 months before a page gets done.
What I love about digital scrapbooking (and there are only a few things I love about it) is that I don't have to haul a bunch of stuff out and mess the place up. I can do a page in 15 min at 4am and when I am done I just turn off the monitor and go back to bed.
It is fast.

But on to 2003 and those 60 photos I discovered a few weeks back....

Christmas 2003 - how to get 20 photos on a two page spread.
Christmas Eve
probably my favorite day of the year.
Letting the girls loose with the decorations.....

And our church Christmas outreach.... even in 2003 I was taking a millions photos of every event.

Anniversary Photo Shoot

50th wedding anniversary and I got to be smack dab in the middle of the celebration with camera in hand.
Fun Day!

It was like shooting a mini wedding..... just capturing the day.
