Creative Moments

Well there are mounds of scrapbooking supplies all over my desk so I might as well do a few more pages before I clean it all up! Isn't that what a long weekend is for? That and cookin up a storm for 6 people all weekend..... and a few guests here and there.  Greek salads, pasta salads, Cesar salads and lots of BBQing - these summer temps are wonderful.

KIDS!!

I did a photo shoot with 8 beautiful children last Sunday.
And they were truly beautiful - absolutely lovely children to work with.
I think I have found my niche - I love doing weddings too, but this was so much fun with so much less stress.

Adorable and Smart

Look what I got done. I am loving the new 6X8 photos that I can develop at Blacks for 29cents with my prepaid card. Inspired me to pull out the glue!!

Of course I am also loving these photos I took in early June of our  "adorable AND smart" grand daughter.

Learning Mandarin

Our grand daughter is learning Chinese - mandarin I think - but what do I know. Her parents are learning it too. So we thought we had better get with the program. Our son sent us a few easy to learn phrases that we are now working on.

Look Unto ME!!

I want to share with you tonight  the account of Charles Spurgeon's conversion. I have read it several times before and yet still it brings joy to my heart. I am thankful for Tim Challies posting it on his site tonight and so I found a slightly longer version to share with you. I chose the longer version, because I think many of us can relate to Spurgeon's struggle with sin and finding forgiveness.

Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 – January 31, 1892) was a Baptist preacher who was and still is known as the "Prince of Preachers". He started preaching at age 19 in one of Londons largest Baptist churches. He was raised in a Christian home and was the eldest child. Spurgeon's conversion to Christianity came on January 6, 1850, at age fifteen. Here is his story.

The revealed Word awakened me; but it was the preached Word that saved me; and I must ever attach peculiar value to the hearing of the truth, for by it I received the joy and peace in which my soul delights. While under concern of soul, I resolved that I would attend all the places of worship in the town where I lived, in order that I might find out the way of salvation. I am not sure if he is a good guy or a bad guy but I hope he is a good guy. At any rate one of my sons is into anime and off to an anime convention in Winnipeg. This is this years costume.

The detail on this costume is quite something. I am not going to ask him how much it cost him. :)

A Prayer about New-Heart Softness

 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.  I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.  And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
