When I was growing up on the farm, I always touched the softness of the bumble-bees. Love them. Wasps - another story!! Gorgeous photo.

Curious - can you enlarge the photo and see your reflection in its' eyes?

You touched them? You brave girl! I bet they are soft but I sure wouldn't want to upset one! And I agree - wasps are a whole other breed of nastiness.
yes I did zoom in looking for my reflection - but it wasn't there - the eyes were too rounded I think. Too bad because that would have been very cool! :)

Bumble bees are typically drunk on the work they are doing in the flowers. Don't press hard - just a soft tickle. It's amazing. I have never been bitten by a bumble bee. Yet. And I am a vicious protector of them. Just love them so. ... again, wasps, not so much! :)
