My Turn

Cinderella

Working on the final touches of a new studio.
Eva helped me test it out today.
Still need to tweak some lighting.

Looking for any adults who would like to sit for me for 30 minutes while I play with lights. I will give you some final edited photos. :)
Anyone available Sat morning?

Here are a few from Eva's shoot today.

Beacon Hill Park Petting Zoo

What a fun hour at the petting zoo. First we waited for all the goats to come running down the path to their enclosure.....

Then we got to pet them

Tanis and Eva were a little on the cautious side. They preferred to hold hands and observe.
Jane was a little more interested in checking it out.

And Norah was right in there having a blast!

KISSING THEM!!

mmmmmmmmaaaaa

So enjoyed getting to know these two a little more.

 Eva looking so grown up.

Crazy Busy

Crazy busy with photo shoots, photo edits and photo delivery..... that's what happens when I take a week off travelling with the grands. It has been particularily busy at the other job too this week.
So I am catching up and adding to the to do list at the same time. :)
Had a fabulous morning at Wrench Fitness in Martensville today and spent the rest of the day working on those photo. Mark is home and I so enjoy working with him. He needs to move back to Saskatoon!

September has been a busy month - almost as busy as August. Loving it!

In the meantime since I feel I have been neglecting all my faithful blog readers, here is Eva when Oldemore asked her if she would like an ice cream sandwich for dessert.....

I think the answer was 'yes please'. :)

And since it is now 11:55pm I think I had better call it a night and go dream about editing photos all night!!

Birthday Fun!!

Cooked up a rather large Coho salmon last night caught fresh that morning off the coast of Vancouver Island! He was very BIG! Had trouble getting him to fit in the oven. :) But oh he was yummy!

Celebrating a couple of birthdays around here.
I have been travelling this past week so haven't had much time to blog..... travelling with the grands so really not having much time to blog!

Trying to get four little ones to look at a camera that no one is behind was a bit tricky. But here we have our gang minus Harold and Sammy with Oldemore (Norwegian for grandmother) - my Mom

The birthday girls - Tanis on the 14th - today - and Eva on the 21st, opening gifts from Oldemore.

The girls admire their new furry slippers from Oldemore

The birthday boy - on the 13th!

Oh the excitement of turning 4!

Sunday afternoon

Enjoying the fruits of our labour...
Okay, maybe the fruits of someone else's labours. I visited the farmers market on Friday. But the basil in the salad came from my garden. :) And it was yummy!

Thankful for  quiet Sunday afternoons on the deck.... until the Rider game starts anyways.

Indulgences

Some days just call for indulgences just because.

A little ice cream, some plain lo fat yogurt, a slop of organic citrus pineapple honey glaze and hemp hearts. Add a cranberry cookie.
The truth? I took this photo about a month ago.  I am currently staying clear of grains and dairy..... except cheese. I love cheese and I refuse to give it up!
I have lasted 3 days and I will likely add ice cream too.... just because.
The cookie I can resist.

More Saskatoon Family Photography

And more little girls.......
Sweetness abounds!
Little girls and motherhood - it's a wonderful thing.

My Backyard

A quiet supper on the deck with my sweetheart and my camera....

I love the fall. I love the cool nights, the fresh mornings. I love wearing sweaters. I love that the sun sets just a little earlier. It is a beautiful time of year.
I hear the geese. They are back, which means that winter is coming.

Marriage

I read this on James MacMillan's blog Bologna and thought is was worthy of sharing with you.

Destructive to marriage is the self-fulfillment ethic that assumes marriage and the family are primarily institutions of personal fulfillment, necessary for us to become “whole” and happy. The assumption is that there is someone just right for us to marry and that if we look closely enough we will find the right person. This moral assumption overlooks a crucial aspect to marriage. It fails to appreciate the fact that we always marry the wrong person.
We never know whom we marry; we just think we do. Or even if we first marry the right person, just give it a while and he or she will change. For marriage, being [the enormous thing it is] means we are not the same person after we have entered it. The primary challenge of marriage is learning how to love and care for the stranger to whom you find yourself married.
Stanley Hauerwas, quoted in The Meaning of Marriage by Tim and Kathy Keller

Since we are approaching 34 years of marriage I am actually starting to get to know this stranger.... in fact I am getting pretty attached to him. I would even go so far as to say that much of the time we feel as though we are one, so much so that it gets a little scary. :)

Have a blessed week everyone. Love and care for that stranger you share a bed with. :)
