How I Became a Photographer

It all started with this guy!

Well, it probably started with scrapbooking. It was there I started to appreciate a good photo for my pages so I bought my Olympus DSLR E500.

I had no idea how to use it. Shoot in manual? Where is manual?

I took it up to Kenora Ontario summer 2005. One early morning son Mark and I got up before sunrise and headed up to Blueberry Hill to shoot the sunrise. Mark had a Canon Rebel

It was at sunrise July 23rd that Mark explained exposure and shutter speed to me. I took this photo of him that morning. I think he is saying "Mom, you don't know how to read your exposure?? "

It was a eureka moment and I haven't stopped learning or loving photography since that day.

I can't believe that was 10 years ago! And about $20,000 worth of equipment later I love it more then ever.

Now I teach Mark stuff. :)
